At Anthropic there are now six AI agents for every employee
The company published how its own workforce has changed and how far its expectations about AI differ from those of the US public.
On 16 October, Anthropic published two reports on AI and work. Inside the company, over the past year it has hired proportionally fewer junior and technical staff; since March its AI agents have worked more hours than its employees, and by August there were six agents for every employee.
It also compared its staff's expectations with a survey of almost 11,000 US adults: 91% of staff and 39% of the public think AI will make a Nobel-level discovery before 2030, and more than half of staff, against 5% of the public, think that by then it will be able to do at least 80% of their work. The company warns that an AI lab is not a typical business.
